ASI Range Officer Training – Olympia Launch Edition

We’re thrilled to announce a special ASI Range Officer (RO) Training event at Evergreen Sportsmen’s Club in Olympia, WA! This session marks the launch of a new ASI program in the region and is designed to build a strong, safety-focused team of Range Officers.

Whether you’re a new candidate seeking certification or a current RO looking to refresh your skills, we’d love to have you join us. Existing ROs may audit the course for free.

Training Overview

This hands-on training combines classroom instruction with live range experience. RO candidates will:

  • Run timers and manage scoring
  • Oversee shooters and respond to simulated unsafe behaviors
  • Complete outdoor range work (please dress appropriately)
  • Pass both classroom and range components to earn certification

Class size is limited to 20 participants.

Requirements for RO Candidates

To be eligible for certification, candidates must:

  • Be a member of Evergreen Sportsmen’s Club (ESC)
  • Hold an active ASI membership (authenticated and activated)
    • Priority given to 3- and 5-Year Members (excludes 90-Day Temporary Memberships)
    • An Authenticated Member contains a photo of you and an Activated Membership requires your Membership Card is downloaded & registered.  Reach out to support@asi.com if you would need additional information.  
  • Have participated in at least three ASI matches (or obtain instructor approval)
  • Submit a completed RO Training Application to Mike Meisner
  • Be approved by Steve Hauck as a trusted, safe shooter asi@evergreenpracticalshooting.com, ASI Primary Club Contact at Evergreen
  • Pay the $20 class fee (due at the start of class)
  • Successfully complete the training

Focus on key sections:

  • Safety (Page 2, #1)
  • Range Commands (Page 4, #4)
  • View ASI Rule Book

Volunteer at Matches
Support setup, scoring, taping, or take-down to gain hands-on experience.

Build Leadership Connections
Engage with Primary Club Contacts and demonstrate initiative—this strengthens community and increases visibility.
