Another One Left the Range: In Memory of Carlos Bregante

Thirty-four years ago, Carlos became an integral part of our lives—as a friend, a legend, a confidant, and a cherished member of our family. It is with deep sadness that we share the news of Carlos Bregante’s passing on April 21, 2025. True to the language we share within the pistol shooting community, another one has left the range. Carlos was gently called home by a stroke while sleeping—a peaceful departure as graceful and precise as the craftsmanship he displayed throughout his life.

Carlos was the go-to name whenever a pistol needed refinement or when a new masterpiece was to be built from scratch. A master craftsman, through and through, he paid extraordinary attention to every detail. For those who had the privilege of engaging him, his infectious laughter, welcoming friendship, steadfast character, and unwavering integrity left an indelible mark.

In the last two years, his devoted nephew Rafa oversaw his care, gently guiding his transition (with the assistance of Steve Kellett and Mac Kahn) from his home in Edmonds, Washington, back to his birthplace and family in Uruguay. This smooth, heartfelt journey honored his life’s story and the connections he held so dear.
